A supercomputer is a computer that is running at the current processing limits. Back when computers were invented, these computers worked with a few processors and took up entire rooms! Now they (still) take up entire rooms, but can contain thousands of processors in either a computer cluster, or by using the unused power of computers around the world (distributed). Nike has probably got a better handle on this, but the Wiki page is rather good (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercomputer)
