  The same way humans do.
  If they get old or sick. Some birds die after 3 years, some live up to 37 years !!!! which is longer than some humans ! The Laysan Albatross can live up to 37 years !

  Birds die for the same reasons humans do. They can get sick with parasites, bacteria or viral diseases like bird flu. They can develop diseases of age such as cancer. They can be injured in an accident or in a fight over a mate or food. They can be eaten by predators. Or they could die from lack of food or water.
