      I think Austin meant Manchester (Mcr is a common abbreviation). Brian Cox’s non-BBC job is at Manchester Uni’s school of Astronomy.

      Thanks Sarah! Yes, we often type M’cr, as it’s quicker than typing Manchester. And Brian Cox is our most high-profile scientist, although there are others here, like Andre Geim (Nobel Physics Prize Winner who had a programme to himself on the BBC recently), Nancy Rothwell (who is our University President, i.e. Chief Exec) and John Sulston (who is a visiting Professor). You can Google any of them to find out more.

      I am definitely a fan of Brian Cox! It is nice to see a younger scientist on the TV, although I’d love to see more female scientists too!
