      Clouds are made of tiny water droplets or ice crystals, or sometimes both. As light from the sun passes through clouds, it is scattered and so the clouds appear white. Clouds are moved by the wind, and this can push them into lots of different shapes, depending on the speed of the wind and how high the clouds are. In some cases it is possible to look at clouds and predict upcoming weather. Cirrus clouds, for example, are the long thin wispy clouds. They form at a high altitude and often predict a change in the weather.
