Fingers crossed that won’t happen for a couple of years at least. Unfortunately it is a hazard in science, as most jobs are on 3-5 year contracts. I have a plan to try and make it as a principal investigator like Austin. I’ve given myself 10 years from last year to do it. If I manage it, then brilliant. If not, I am happy to go and do something else!

I’d like to either go into clinical trial research, where you help to take a medicine through human volunteers, or to develop my crafty business. I like making things like jewellery, hats, clothes and homemade vanilla essence and other things with a Scottish twist. Hopefully that might also provide a career. Nowadays there are no jobs for life, so you just have to be flexible.
