      Don’t, repeat, don’t, go into science if you want to be rich.

      The pay is OK (I’ve been in science for 25 years, and I think I’m just about in the top 15% of wage earners nationally), but nothing like what people in other ‘professions’ (things like law, accounting. and medicine) earn. It’s probably closer to what your teachers earn..

      Definitely not! It depends on what you mean by rich. I can (more or less) afford eat, have a house, a car and go on a holiday or two every year, so I’m not doing too bad. I get a lot of job satisfaction though, so that does make up for it.
